Lord parshuram statue is located on a mountain in burondi and is popular as parshuram bhumi. the statue is 21 feet tall and rests on a ‘half-globe’ shaped construction which is 40 feet in diameter. this basement also serves as a mediation hall where devotees and tourists can sit quietly, meditate and unwind themselves. form the top of the mountain one can see the beautiful red waters of the arabian sea, which in this region is called by the name tamas tirtha red sea beach.

Parshuram Bhumi is a hilltop famous for its scenic beauty. The attraction is marked by a stunning 21 feet tall statue of Lord Parshuram installed on top of one half of a globe that has a radius of 20 feet. It is one of the best locations to get a marvellous view of the Tamas Teertha and the surrounding terrain.

Lord Parshuram is believed to be the 6th avtar of Lord Vishnu. He was personally trained by Lord Shiva to fight evil and destructive forces at that time and bring peace to the world. He was bestowed with an axe to fight. The word Parshu means axe and so he is known as Ram with an axe. He is believed to have fought the advancing oceans and thus preserve the land of Konkan. He is known to have fought against the Kshatriyas. He created the community of Chitpavan Brahmins(also called Kokanastha Brahmins today). It is also believed that Saraswat Brahmins, a community which used to stay in North India on the banks of Saraswati river; followed Lord Parshuram to the Konkan region for migration after the river dried up. Lord Parshuram is believed to have played a role in the Ramayana and Mahabharata wars as well. He is believed to have trained Bhishma, Dronacharya as well as Karna in warfare.

The temple was built by initiative from Swami Paramhans Brahmendra. He was the Guru of Siddi Yakutkhan of Janjira, Kanhoji Angre of Kolaba, Peshwa of Pune, Chatrapati Sahu Maharaj, Tararani of Kolhapur. He was also admired by the Portuguese and English for his presence in Peshwa and Angre's courts. Siddi Rasul Yakut Khan gave financial help to build Parshuram Temple in 1700. He gave Pedhe and Ambdas villages as Inam (prize) to Swamiji to incur daily expenses of the temple. Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj gave 5 nearby villages as Inam (prize). He built three temples, a Deepmahal (a tall stone structure used to light oil lamps as an offering to God) and a lodge for the pilgrims at Parshuram. Kanhoji Angre gave Mahalunge, Dorle, Kalambuse, Nayari, Virmade, Anewadi and Dhawdashi Inam (prize). In 1726 Siddhi demolished the temples by blaming Swamiji for giving away their elephant to Kanoji Angre, which was not true. The elephant, on its way from Savanur to Gowalkot was taken away by Angre's men to Jaigad. The Swami became angry and returned the elephant to Siddhi Saat. He later realized his mistake and rebuilt the demolished temples.
